Software Engineer, Backend (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid work from the Menlo Park, CA or New York, NY offices, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Base pay: $130,000–$195,000 USD per year, depending on compensation zone and work location, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services, infrastructure, and data systems.
• Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements for brokerage, incentives, identity, KYC, and fraud prevention systems.
• Maintain high standards for correctness, scalability, code quality, and long-term maintainability.
• Improve system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
• Collaborate with client teams, engineering and product partners, operations teams, and external vendors.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience.
• Experience delivering large-scope technical projects in cross-functional environments.
• Solid understanding of backend development, system design, and the relationship between product and engineering.
• Proficiency in Go or Python.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or similar data streaming technologies.
• Experience managing and processing large-scale datasets.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech or at a financial institution.
• Familiarity with Postgres, Kubernetes, Redis, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
