What you will do
- Ensure daily repair operations run efficiently by reviewing and performing repair survey requests, confirming repair booked status, scheduling repairs, completing material requisitions, and reviewing manpower needs.
- Administer the company safety program and training, including safety audits when necessary, and reinforce safety expectations for all employees.
- Participate in weekly repair backlog meetings with regional repair coordinators to update schedules and system data.
- Supervise repair mechanics and apprentices, including job-site audits, performance management, and progressive discipline.
- Use system reports to monitor repair job status, efficiencies, and completion; review billable and non-billable repair reports weekly.
- Maintain knowledge of the local market area and company products by attending training classes and reviewing factory equipment updates; support accounts receivable with problem account collection information.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of the construction industry and general management skills, or a Bachelor’s degree, or 2 years of experience managing at a branch departmental level (or equivalent education and experience).
- Ability to write reports, contract proposals, and business correspondence.
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from management and customers.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle multiple abstract and concrete variables.
- Up-to-date familiarity with federal, state, and local elevator industry code requirements.
