Advanced Software Quality Engineer (Financial Services)

Location: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada; hybrid work with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office. The role requires working hours that overlap with Eastern Time up to 11 EST and occasional off-hours production release support.

Salary: CAD 100,000–110,000 per year, plus incentive pay.

What you will do

• Design, execute, and oversee complex test strategies for software products in the LCAR domain.
• Plan tests, configure environments and test data, manage defects, and publish test results and status reports.
• Test large data sets, MDM systems, databases, UI applications, workflows, and backend data validations.
• Investigate application logs and defects, perform first-level root-cause analysis, and coordinate resolution with Engineering, Development, Product, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
• Support testing across AWS tools, data platforms, and workflow orchestration tools, including release checkouts and ongoing quality monitoring.
• Mentor junior analysts, contribute to quality initiatives, and communicate progress and risks during Agile project lifecycles.

Requirements

• 5–9 years of experience in software quality assurance or software testing.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL, Snowflake, and PostgreSQL, including stored procedures, views, and tables.
• Experience testing Master Data Management systems and executing tests against large data sets.
• Knowledge of Python or a similar programming language, Unix command line, application logs, and defect lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with AWS S3, AWS Secrets Manager, AWS cost models, and workflow tools such as AutoSys, Airflow, or Stonebranch UAC.
• Bachelor of Technology or MCA; financial services or asset management experience is preferred.

Nice to have

• Test automation for large data projects.
• Knowledge of Alteryx, Informatica, or dbt.
• Familiarity with Bitbucket or other source control tools.
