Contract Wordings Technician (Insurance)

What you will do

• Review and advise on retail open-market insurance wordings and products, including direct-to-customer products, binding authorities, cover-holder wordings, and broker wordings.
• Provide technical wording advice to underwriters and support the delivery of UK business plans.
• Advise on emerging market, regulatory, and legal trends affecting product wordings.
• Coordinate workloads and support timely delivery of wording services across the team.
• Maintain the central wording repository and related records and reports.
• Conduct post-bind thematic reviews of product lines and ensure wordings meet applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Knowledge of retail, direct-to-customer, open-market insurance and general insurance terminology.
• Deep knowledge of FCA requirements, FOS outcomes, customer insurance documentation, IPIDs, Consumer Duty, and conduct risk.
• Experience drafting legal contracts or insurance policies.
• Experience working with senior management, stakeholders, boards, and committees.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, consensus-building, organisational, and project management skills.
• Ability to explain sophisticated technical topics clearly to internal and external stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or experience with Acturis and/or Websure.
