Director/Sr. Director Binding Product Line Leader (Underwriting): Lead and implement the strategic vision and plan for the Binding P&C portfolio, driving product profitability, growth, and retention with an accent on underwriting strategy execution, portfolio performance management, and profitable underwriting of referrals. Focus on analyzing coverage and contract language, reviewing pricing/coverages/loss details, and coordinating across underwriting, actuarial, product development, claims, IT, operations, and regulatory teams while managing regional underwriting execution.
Location: Richmond, VA
Salary: $162,800 - $223,800 base (55% incentive target)

What you will do
- Lead and implement the strategic vision and plan for the Binding P&C portfolio within Wholesale & Specialty.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to underwriting teams and/or direct reports.
- Review and evaluate referrals for pricing, coverages, and loss detail to underwrite profitable business.
- Manage the portfolio to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets; ensure execution of best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships across internal functions (Actuarial, Product Development, Claims, IT, Operations, Regulatory) to deliver superior products.
- Collaborate with regional underwriting teams to communicate and execute product line strategy; represent the product line to internal and external customers as needed.
Requirements
- US Work Authorization required; does not provide visa sponsorship.
- 5-7 years of casualty underwriting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field from an accredited university/college.
- Strong interpersonal and management skills, including effective communication and negotiation.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent problem solving/decision making abilities.
- Travel expectation: 25-35%.
