TL;DR

Sales Engineering Manager (IoT): Leading and developing a team of eight Sales Engineers in Japan to provide world-class pre-sales support with an accent on technical strategy, partner enablement, and solution governance. Focus on bridging the gap between technical feasibility and commercial requirements to drive business growth as a Trusted Advisor.

Location: Must be based in Tokyo, Japan (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH).

What you will do

  • Manage, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of 8 Sales Engineers.
  • Drive the overarching strategy for technical sales support and align resources with high-priority business opportunities.
  • Orchestrate national technical competence development through Axis Academy and training programs.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between the Japan sales organization and global/APAC leadership.
  • Oversee the integrity of system designs, proof-of-concepts, and solution testing.
  • Manage Japan Solution Labs to showcase complex third-party integrations and edge-computing solutions.

Requirements

  • Japanese: Native level or JLPT N1 certification required.
  • English: TOEIC score of 730 or above preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in sales within the IT industry.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and upskilling Pre-Sales or Sales Engineering teams.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical value propositions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of partnering with sales teams to drive business growth.
