What you will do

• Perform venipunctures and finger sticks to obtain blood specimens.
• Verify patient identification and test requisitions to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic techniques and department procedures.
• Track collected specimens and record results in quality-control logs.
• Resolve unusual test orders by coordinating with physicians and nursing staff.
• Manage patient reports and coordinate courier pickups for specimen transport.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by state)
• Ability to adhere to JCAHO standards and federal/state regulations
• Completion of HIPAA/PHI privacy training within the first 30 days
