Portfolio Strategist (Investment Portfolio Construction)

Location: Toronto, Canada; 100% remote office schedule with travel required for in-person advisor meetings, client events, conferences, and presentations. Current work authorization for Canada is required.

Base salary: CAD 110,000–130,000 annually, plus variable compensation and an RRSP contribution after six months.

What you will do

• Advise financial advisors on creating, implementing, and reviewing customized open-architecture model portfolios.
• Lead portfolio construction discussions, presentations, and consultations independently and alongside the sales team.
• Use Fidelity Portfolio Intelligence, investment tools, and market research to analyze risk, return, diversification, and portfolio positioning.
• Partner with Portfolio Construction, Sales, advisors, and prospects to develop and deliver model portfolios.
• Provide expertise on Fidelity and third-party products, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and portfolio changes.
• Develop thought leadership and portfolio construction insights while building long-term relationships with advisors and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Current authorization to work in Canada is required.
• 5+ years of investment market expertise and 3+ years of building or analyzing investment portfolios.
• Expert knowledge of portfolio construction concepts and Canadian investment products and services.
• Direct experience working with advisors, clients, investment professionals, or other external audiences.
• Strong oral and written communication, presentation, client relationship, and consultative selling skills.
• University degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Completed CFA, MBA, or CAIA designation.
• Canadian asset management or wealth management industry knowledge.
