What you will do

• Architect end-to-end applied AI services connecting offline data ingestion, LLM workflows, and online APIs.
• Create reusable building blocks, libraries, and templates to accelerate AI integration for product teams.
• Lead backend platform excellence by architecting high-scale microservices and event-driven architectures in Kubernetes.
• Drive AI/ML and LLM systems from prototype to production, including evaluation methodologies and guardrail frameworks.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define ownership boundaries and system-wide standards for APIs and data schemas.
• Mentor senior engineers and champion AI as a force multiplier for engineering workflows and operational excellence.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in large-scale, distributed backend systems.
• Strong expertise in cloud environments (AWS), Kubernetes, databases, and caching.
• Hands-on experience building or scaling AI/ML or LLM-powered systems in production.
• Proven track record of leading cross-team technical initiatives as an individual contributor.
• Experience with data pipelines (Databricks, Spark, Kafka) and modern API layers like GraphQL.
• Must be based in Mexico with the ability to travel to Mexico City for occasional events.
