Test Design Engineer

Salary: $80,000.00–$120,000.00 annually

What you will do

• Design and develop test equipment and custom test interfaces for engineers, production, customers, and test personnel.
• Create interface designs, wiring diagrams, rack layouts, power distribution systems, switch matrices, and related documentation.
• Integrate COTS equipment (signal generators, multimeters, power supplies, computers) into complete test setups.
• Develop test software using LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Python, C/C++, and C#.
• Design and lay out circuit cards and associated mechanical fixturing/cables using tools such as Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, SolidWorks, and NX.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and validate test systems and circuit cards, including Gage R&R validation and hardware/software debugging.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 4 years of test equipment design experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with at least 2 years of experience.
• Strong understanding of closed-loop control systems and circuit card-level electrical functional test hardware (analog, power, and digital circuitry).
• Experience designing test software across programming environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio, Notepad++); Microsoft Project familiarity is a plus.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
