What you will do

• Drive the multi-quarter technical roadmap for large-scale OpenSearch clusters.
• Integrate search infrastructure with CDP components like Apache Iceberg and Ozone.
• Optimize JVM settings, shard strategies, and query DSL for maximum throughput.
• Develop Kubernetes Operators and Helm charts for automated service deployment.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers on complex technical designs.
• Act as a primary liaison and influencer within the upstream OpenSearch community.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the US (no immigration sponsorship provided).
• 6+ years of experience with OpenSearch or Elasticsearch in production at scale.
• Mastery of Java and proficiency in Go or Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, and CAP theorem.
• Extensive experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Hands-on experience deploying search workloads on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lucene internals.
• Knowledge of Vector Database capabilities for Generative AI (RAG).
