TL;DR

Index Governance Data Leader (Fintech): Establishing and overseeing data governance practices across the full Index Data Lifecycle with an accent on process documentation, control frameworks, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on identifying data risks, managing lifecycle dependencies, and providing executive-level reporting to senior leadership and governing bodies.

Location: Must be based in Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid: 3 days/week in-office).

What you will do

  • Own and evolve the data governance framework across the Index Data Lifecycle.
  • Act as the central coordination point for cross-functional working groups to align on standards and priorities.
  • Design and maintain executive-level governance reporting and dashboards.
  • Identify data risks, control gaps, and lifecycle dependencies while driving remediation plans.
  • Lead change management efforts for process or control updates.
  • Support internal audits and regulatory inquiries with transparent documentation.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of experience in financial services with a focus on data governance or management.
  • Proven track record of operationalizing governance frameworks and process controls.
  • Strong project management skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive reporting.

Nice to have

  • Experience in index businesses, market data providers, or regulated financial benchmarks.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry governance frameworks.
  • Experience supporting formal audits or control assessments.
