Salary: $213,000–$266,000 (California range).

What you will do

• Manage and lead a team of talented engineers and senior individual contributors based in North America.
• Develop and execute technical roadmaps and strategies aligned with department and company goals.
• Mentor software engineers, including senior and principal-level contributors, to foster technical excellence.
• Partner with product managers and engineering leaders to facilitate integration and adoption of storage solutions.
• Drive best practices for the software development lifecycle, including scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with enterprise customers to ensure successful adoption of storage technologies for petabyte-scale analytics and AI pipelines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering management role.
• Must be based in North America.
• Demonstrable experience with the design and operation of large-scale distributed systems (storage, file systems, databases, or cloud infrastructure).
• Strong understanding of fundamental storage concepts such as consistency, replication, and erasure coding.
• Not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.

Nice to have

• Prior experience contributing to or leading large-scale open-source projects.
• Familiarity with the Apache Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Impala, Spark).
• Experience with distributed storage technologies like Ceph, Gluster, ZFS, or S3-compatible systems.
• Experience managing remote or hybrid engineering teams.
