Consultant - Financial Institution Advisory

Location: Washington, DC; ability to travel to client sites on demand is required. Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Salary: $100,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Execute financial institution advisory projects covering accounting, auditing, SEC reporting, financial analysis, regulatory matters, risk and controls, technology enablement, and process optimization.
• Support financial risk management engagements involving credit risk, valuation, capital planning, stress testing, liquidity, resolution planning, and model risk management.
• Analyze data and documents, develop client-ready analyses, identify key risks and roadblocks, and establish controls for accurate conclusions.
• Plan and manage all or parts of client engagements, delegate assignments, monitor progress, and review work products.
• Manage client relationships and communicate project results, analyses, and recommendations.
• Contribute to practice meetings, business development, staff training, recruiting, and office activities.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, or a related field, or completion of an equivalent accelerated accounting program.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, forensics, dispute and damages, or Big Four consulting.
• CPA designation or documented progress toward obtaining the CPA.
• Experience with financial statements, GAAP, Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, financial analysis, and control procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage junior staff and processes.
• Must be able to work in the United States without company sponsorship and travel to client sites as required.

Nice to have

• SEC registrant audit experience at a large public accounting firm.
• Financial services experience with banks, fintechs, broker-dealers, REITs, investment management firms, or insurance companies.
• Knowledge of financial instruments, banking, mortgage, capital markets, derivatives, structured products, insurance, capital planning, or liquidity planning.
• Experience with quantitative analytics, financial instrument valuation, business process remediation, RPA, or AI applications for segmentation, pricing, or complaint analysis.
