TL;DR
Consultant - Financial Institution Advisory (Financial Risk/Analytics): Execute and oversee financial institution advisory engagements across credit risk, valuation, capital planning, stress-testing, liquidity, resolution planning, and model risk management with an accent on data-intensive analytics, governance, and development of client deliverables. Focus on building financial analyses and models, reviewing work for completeness and accuracy, and communicating results to support expert reports and client relationships.
Location: Washington, DC
Salary: $100,000 - $145,000 per year

What you will do
- Work directly with senior professionals to deliver financial institution advisory projects across regulatory, risk and controls, finance/accounting, technology enablement, and business process optimization.
- Support data-intensive initiatives including analytics, governance, and manipulation to advance financial risk initiatives.
- Plan and manage client engagement workstreams based on engagement size and complexity.
- Delegate tasks to junior staff, monitor progress, and review deliverables for completeness and accuracy.
- Develop financial analyses and models using transactional and financial data; generate and contribute to client deliverables and expert reports.
- Manage client relationships and communicate results and work products as appropriate.
Requirements
- Work authorization: Must be able to submit verification of legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, finance, or related field; five-year accelerated accounting program or combined bachelor’s + master’s preferred.
- Minimum 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting or Big Four consulting (audit, forensics, or dispute and damages).
- CPA designation or documented progress toward obtaining the CPA.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office; strong GAAP and financial statement understanding.
- Ability to travel to client sites on demand is required.
Nice to have
- Experience with risk and control assessments, process mapping/flows, and consumer compliance testing (CFPB/OCC/Federal Reserve/state law requirements).
- Experience with AML/BSA/KYC/OFAC, BCBS 239, capital planning and stress testing, and capital markets compliance.
- Programming/analytics experience with R, SAS, Python, and/or SQL; familiarity with RPA and AI used for segmentation/pricing/complaint analysis.
