Описание вакансии
TL;DR
Thesis Student Propulsion: Developing and validating a second-iteration heat exchanger for a tank pressurization system using waste engine heat, with an accent on reduced-order system modeling, experimental data validation, and optimizing heat exchanger geometry. Focus on analyzing heat exchanger dynamics (including start-up transients), estimating soot deposition effects, and defining parameters for temperature control of pressurization helium.
Company
builds modern launch solutions for small and medium-sized satellites and constellations.
What you will do
- Refine an existing system model of the pressurization system and heat exchanger.
- Validate and tune the model using experimental data and estimate soot deposition impact on heat exchanger performance.
- Use the validated model to optimize the geometry of a second heat exchanger iteration.
- Support experimental campaigns and perform data analysis.
- Analyze heat exchanger start-up transients using model and test data.
- Define parameters for a temperature control system for pressurization helium.
Requirements
- B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar.
- Strong fundamentals of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics.
- Experience with reduced order systems modeling.
- Experience working with high-pressure fluid systems.
- Proficiency in Python (or similar) and strong data analysis skills.
- Fluent English.
Culture & Benefits
- Subsidised lunch and free snacks and drinks.
- Fully financed Deutschlandticket for commuting.
- Sponsored sports club memberships (e.g., EGYM Wellpass).
- Access to physical and mental well-being support via OpenUp for you and your family.
