What you will do
- Lead the strategy and implementation of monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility patterns across critical systems.
- Define standards for logging, dashboarding, system health reporting, and audit evidence collection.
- Increase platform reliability and resilience through gap analysis, root cause remediation, and production readiness reviews.
- Automate repeatable operational tasks using software engineering and scripting to reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with security, IA, and infrastructure teams to ensure systems meet monitoring and compliance expectations.
- Mentor engineers and lead complex, multi-team technical initiatives from discovery through delivery.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, DevOps, or SRE.
- U.S. Citizenship and an active U.S. Government security clearance are mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with observability platforms such as ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, or Grafana.
- Proficiency in scripting using Python or Bash.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives in secure, regulated, or compliance-sensitive environments.
- Ability to translate ambiguous operational and audit needs into executable technical plans.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, and Kafka.
- Knowledge of OpenTelemetry and modern cloud-native observability patterns.
- Familiarity with ITSM, ticketing, CMDB, and change management workflows.
- Experience supporting ATO and government compliance efforts.
