General Ledger Accountant

TL;DR

Location: Hybrid role based in Krakow, Poland; requires 3-5 days of onsite attendance per month.

What you will do

• Perform general ledger activities including journal postings, period-end closing, and balance sheet maintenance.
• Manage daily bank activities, payments, and reconciliations between bank statements and SAP.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and US GAAP requirements.
• Execute cost center rebookings, inter-company transfers, and adjustments.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve accounting accuracy.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to queries.

Requirements

• Experience in general ledger accounting within a corporate or shared services environment.
• SAP experience (ECC or S/4HANA) is mandatory.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP is required.
• Experience with month-end close activities, reconciliations, and accounting controls.
• Very good English skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities under deadlines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of German GAAP.
• Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency environments.
• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or ACA.
