What you will do
- Lead the Group health and safety management system (HSMS), embedding consistent standards, governance, and assurance across the global organisation.
- Act as the UK statutory competent person, providing expert advice on legal compliance, risk mitigation, and proportionate controls.
- Lead and develop the GATES (Group and Territories Employment Safety) network, including onboarding, guidance, and oversight of local H&S activity.
- Oversee audits, incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, and training to drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to identify, manage, and monitor health and safety risks.
- Design and implement systems for incident reporting/recording/investigation (including near misses) and deliver an audit programme for Board confidence.
Requirements
- 10 years’ experience in a senior health and safety role (candidates with fewer years may be considered if knowledge and level are appropriate).
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Significant experience managing health and safety in an international organisation.
- Strong understanding of the commercial context for the Group.
- Ability to connect, consult, and advise across the organisation.
