What you will do

• Own and deliver growth targets across new business and renewals for an approximately £8m GWP Life Science portfolio.
• Define the portfolio growth strategy and strengthen hirify.global’s Life Science proposition in the UK broker market.
• Provide technical authority for complex and specialist casualty underwriting decisions, appetite, and referrals.
• Build broker relationships, identify opportunities, and lead market-facing trading activity.
• Drive product development, innovation, wording, pricing, and coverage optimisation with distribution and actuarial teams.
• Coach and upskill underwriters while influencing commercial and technical direction without direct reports.

Requirements

• Essential experience in Life Science underwriting.
• Strong technical expertise across complex casualty risks.
• Demonstrated record of delivering profitable growth.
• Confidence operating in broker-facing and market-facing roles.
• Ability to balance detailed technical analysis with decisive, commercially focused action.
• Ability to work in a hybrid role based in the UK, with flexible UK locations considered.
