Principal Cloud Solutions Architect – Azure Cloud

Location: Remote in the US or Canada; up to 20% travel may be required for client meetings, project work, or team collaboration.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Define and architect end-to-end Azure cloud solutions with business stakeholders, clients, and engineering teams.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing Azure architectures across compute, storage, security, and platform domains.
• Lead architecture for Azure Databricks, data lakes, ETL/ELT, streaming, and modern lakehouse platforms.
• Develop cloud networking strategies covering VNets, hybrid connectivity, private endpoints, VPN/ExpressRoute, DNS, and load balancing.
• Define IAM frameworks using Azure AD, RBAC, Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, and Zero Trust principles.
• Drive observability, monitoring, automation, incident response, resiliency, disaster recovery, governance, architecture reviews, technical guidance, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 15+ years of IT experience, including at least 10 years focused on cloud architecture; Azure experience is preferred.
• Experience working directly with clients and cross-functional development teams to deliver enterprise solutions.
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including compute, storage, security, and platform services.
• Hands-on Azure Databricks experience and modern data architecture expertise, including data lakes, ETL/ELT, streaming, and lakehouse patterns.
• Strong cloud networking knowledge, including hub-and-spoke architectures, VPN/ExpressRoute, DNS, and load balancing.
• Extensive IAM experience with Azure AD, RBAC, SSO, MFA, and Zero Trust frameworks.
• Experience designing for operational excellence, monitoring, automation, incident response, and high availability.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-tier, distributed cloud application architectures, plus strong communication and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
