IC Design Verification Engineer (Networking IP)

Location: Kanata, Canada

Base salary: 110,600–152,000 CAD annually

What you will do

• Architect, design, implement, and verify Ethernet and networking IP for next-generation SoCs.
• Develop UVM verification environments for hardware IP and System-on-Chip products.
• Build directed and constrained-random verification tests and review functional and code coverage.
• Debug test failures, identify root causes, and resolve defects with architecture and design engineers.
• Perform performance-versus-complexity trade-off analysis and document IP specifications and implementation details.
• Improve design and verification methodologies and coordinate execution with IP architecture, design, and verification teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with IP and System-on-Chip products.
• Strong knowledge of SystemVerilog, UVM verification, verification tools, and the full hardware verification cycle.
• Experience with EDA tools and scripting using Python, TCL, Perl, Makefile, and Shell.
• Experience architecting and implementing design verification infrastructure.
• Experience with Git, algorithm development, hardware/software trade-offs, and technical documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with formal verification and functional safety verification.
• Knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP protocols, and experience with routers, bridges, or switches.
• Security or cryptography experience.
