Staff Network Engineer

TL;DR

Staff Network Engineer (Enterprise Networking): Designing, deploying, and operating global enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, campus environments, and WAN with an accent on high availability, security, and scalability. Focus on leading complex network programs, performing root-cause analysis, and driving cross-domain initiatives in collaboration with IT and Security teams.

What you will do

• Design and deliver scalable data center and campus network solutions using Cisco, Arista, HPE, and Aruba platforms.
• Support WAN operations, including internet edge and SD-WAN integrations.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis to minimize incidents and outages.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Data Center, Storage, Virtualization, and Security to deliver technical initiatives.
• Establish and maintain network documentation, standards, and operational runbooks.
• Operationalize solutions for Day 2 support, including monitoring, capacity planning, and lifecycle management.

Requirements

• 12–15 years of experience in enterprise network architecture, design, and operations.
• Must be based in Cork or Dublin, Ireland.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Cisco certification required (CCNP preferred; CCIE a strong plus).
• Expert knowledge of routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN) and high-availability designs.
• Strong foundation in network security principles, including segmentation, ACLs, and firewall integrations.

Nice to have

• Experience with SD-WAN design and hybrid connectivity patterns.
• Exposure to Cisco VPN or F5 Load Balancers.
• Experience with network automation, observability, telemetry, or scripting.
