What you will do

• Lead technical discovery and qualification for complex customer opportunities.
• Design end-to-end network solutions including dark fibre, optical transport, and routed networks.
• Produce comprehensive design documentation, capacity models, and bill-of-material details.
• Coach Account Executives on service portfolios, design principles, and engagement techniques.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
• Serve as the technical authority for complex bids and Individual Case Basis evaluations.

Requirements

• Must be based in London or able to work from the London office on a hybrid basis.
• Proven experience in solution engineering, network architecture, or technical presales within telecommunications or cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of optical networking, wavelength services, Ethernet transport, and hybrid networking patterns.
• Proficiency in creating accurate design diagrams using Lucidchart.
• Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical executive audiences.
• Experience supporting enterprise, public-sector, or wholesale carrier customers.

Nice to have

• Experience designing high-capacity coherent optical transmission systems.
• Familiarity with cloud networking integrations for AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of security topics including DDoS protection and secure edge design.
• Experience working in multi-vendor environments (Ciena, Cisco, Juniper, Infinera, Arista).
