Tissue Engineer (Bioengineering)

TL;DR

Tissue Engineer (Bioengineering): Developing and characterizing mammalian organ-specific micro-physiological systems and organ-on-chip models for toxicity, metabolism, and disease-state studies. Focus on applying cell biology and tissue engineering fundamentals to establish novel in vitro models and assays within a fast-paced, interdisciplinary R&D environment.

Salary: $62,500 – $140,000

What you will do

• Develop and optimize organ-specific micro-physiological systems and organ-on-chip models.
• Culture and maintain human primary cells and tissues in advanced in vitro systems.
• Perform molecular, biochemical, and cellular assays including immunostaining, qPCR, and flow cytometry.
• Acquire and analyze high-content confocal microscopy data using automated pipelines.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to execute project plans and communicate findings.
• Maintain SOPs and support day-to-day laboratory organization and safety compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or related field required.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering or R&D experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
• Proficiency in sterile technique and primary mammalian cell culture.
• Strong foundation in biology and engineering principles with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, milestone-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
• Experience with micro-physiological systems (MPS) or organ-on-chip platforms.
• Knowledge of immunology, synthetic biology, or bioinformatics pipelines.
• Experience with laboratory automation and in silico modeling.
