AS/400 Impact Consultant (Fintech)

TL;DR

AS/400 Impact Consultant (Fintech): Providing technical support and analysis for the hirify.global Impact product with an accent on iSeries technologies and fixed income back-office operations. Focus on troubleshooting production issues, managing system configurations, and ensuring the stability of critical financial processing workflows.

Location: Must be based in or near Newark, NJ (Hybrid: 2 days/week in office).

What you will do

• Analyze and resolve complex technical service requests for internal and external clients.
• Troubleshoot real-time test and production issues within the Impact application.
• Review technical design documents and mentor less experienced team members.
• Support functional testing of enhancements and fixes to ensure system integrity.
• Document operational procedures and develop workarounds for functional issues.
• Represent the team in project status meetings and participate in batch issue reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum 7-10 years of experience as a software developer on the hirify.global Impact product.
• Extensive experience with IBM iSeries technologies (AS/400, RPG/400, DB2/400, CL/400).
• Strong proficiency in ILE concepts, SQL, and related development tools (SDA, ALDON, MQ).
• Must be able to work in the Newark, NJ office 2 days per week.
• Analytical mindset with strong communication and leadership capabilities.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of US Fixed Income products and bond pricing mathematics.
• Experience with securitized assets, mortgage-backed securities, or money market instruments.
• Background in fixed income back-office or clearance operations.
