Prior Authorization Submitter: Managing the medical necessity review and authorization process for assistive communication equipment with an accent on payer requirements and documentation accuracy. Location: Remote (US), must be based in Pacific or Mountain time zones. Ability to travel to the Pittsburgh office for team activities/trainings (approx. 4 times per year) is required.
Salary: $20/hr (approx. $3,200/month)

What you will do
- Review funded cases to verify information accuracy and completeness.
- Create and submit prior authorization packets according to specific payer requirements.
- Document all steps taken in the electronic medical records database.
- Follow up regularly on submitted requests to ensure timely payer decisions.
- Identify and report payer trends to department management.
- Assist with other intake functions to meet team goals.
Requirements
- Must reside in Pacific or Mountain time zones.
- High school diploma.
- One year of experience in a medical office or submitting prior authorizations.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook).
- Experience modifying, merging, and splitting PDFs.
- Ability to spend up to 90% of working hours on the phone.
