Solutions Engineer - Commercial (Data Center/Cloud): Collaborate with account teams to assess customer data center environments and design tailored infrastructure solutions with an accent on hybrid cloud, virtualization, and disaster recovery. Focus on building OEM/partner relationships, delivering technical training for sales, and managing the solution practice pipeline across Data Center, Cloud, Network, Security, and Services.
Location: Austin, TX, USA (Hybrid schedule; report to SHI Austin, TX office as determined by SHI management)
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year (base salary + bonus)

What you will do
- Evaluate customer data center environments and infrastructure technologies with account teams.
- Design and propose tailored infrastructure solutions aligned to customer business objectives.
- Build and maintain technical relationships with OEMs and strategic partners; stay current on product information.
- Provide product training and technical education to sales teams and customers.
- Act as a trusted IT advisor for customers in partnership with Field Account Executives.
- Manage the solution practice pipeline and identify technology opportunities across Data Center, Cloud, Network, Security, Collaboration, and Services.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience working in complex Data Center sales opportunities.
- Ability to design data center infrastructures including hybrid cloud, SDDC, infrastructure/platform as a service, automation, and containerization.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, hypervisors, server virtualization, and software-defined data center concepts.
- Ability to communicate and sell complex technical products/services by understanding customer needs and articulating value propositions.
- Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, and high availability solutions (backup/recovery, data protection, mirroring, active/active, clustering).
Nice to have
- Advanced certifications in one or more mainstream technologies (e.g., Dell Technologies, Cisco, VMware, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, Azure, AWS, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, Nutanix).
