Solutions Engineer - Commercial (Data Center)

Location: Austin, Texas, USA; hybrid schedule with required reporting to the SHI Austin office

Salary: $100,000–$140,000 annual pay range, including base salary and bonus

What you will do

• Evaluate customer data center environments and infrastructure technologies with account teams.
• Design and propose infrastructure solutions aligned with customer business objectives, needs, and budgets.
• Build technical relationships with OEMs and strategic partners while maintaining current product knowledge.
• Provide product training and technical education to sales teams and customers.
• Advise customers and collaborate with Field Account Executives, CIOs, IT Directors, and CTOs.
• Manage the solution practice pipeline, develop prospect strategies, and identify opportunities across data center, cloud, network, security, collaboration, and services.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role and a bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
• Experience with complex data center sales opportunities and infrastructure design.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud, hyperconverged infrastructure, software-defined data centers, infrastructure/platform as a service, automation, containerization, and data center management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, hypervisors, server virtualization, software-defined data centers, containerization, and automation.
• Experience with disaster recovery, business continuity, high availability, backup and recovery, data protection, mirroring, clustering, and active/standby or active/active environments.
• Working knowledge of Dell Technologies, NetApp, HPE, Cisco, Pure Storage, Azure, AWS, Veeam, and Nutanix, with the ability to travel to company, partner, and customer events.

• Advanced certification in Dell Technologies, Cisco, VMware, NetApp, Pure Storage, HPE, Azure, AWS, Commvault, Rubrik, Cohesity, Veeam, or Nutanix.
