What you will do

• Set up, load, and operate manufacturing equipment; rotate through department workstations based on business needs.
• Calculate and derive dimensional information from dimensional drawings and routings to produce parts to quality expectations.
• Perform SPC/quality checks using measurement tools and devices; complete required paperwork for accurate records.
• Follow Standard Work Instructions at each process and request changes when needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment using 5S and follow corporate/plant/department safety guidelines.
• Participate in Herman Miller Performance System (HMPS) improvement activities and meet cycle-time requirements (perform 75% of jobs at required rate).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or work experience demonstrating performance competency.
• Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to access and use information system databases.
• Basic math skills (adding/subtracting) and ability to use measuring tools (calipers, gauges, tape measures); ability to read drawings.
• Ability to read, understand, communicate, and interpret written and verbal instructions and work documentation in English.
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand for periods up to 10–12 hours; lift up to 50 pounds; reliable attendance and flexibility with assignments and possible hours.
