TL;DR
Platform Engineer (Kubernetes) (Cloud-Native Infrastructure): Building and operating Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure, tooling, automation, and CI/CD systems for reliable software delivery with an accent on cluster scalability, observability, security, and infrastructure as code. Focus on troubleshooting production environments, optimizing cloud resource usage, embedding security controls, and automating operational challenges across multiple environments.
Location: Hybrid in the Cambridge office, United Kingdom; two days per week in the office are required.

What you will do
- Design, build, maintain, and evolve foundational platform infrastructure, tooling, and automation.
- Operate and scale Kubernetes clusters across multiple environments, improving reliability, observability, and performance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support development teams with production application transitions.
- Drive infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform and CloudFormation while optimizing public cloud usage.
- Embed security controls into platform design and coach development teams on cloud-native and security best practices.
- Coordinate component changes and manage services against business needs and performance indicators.
Requirements
- At least two years of experience operating, troubleshooting, and scaling Kubernetes clusters in production.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes networking, storage, RBAC, and workload scheduling.
- Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
- Understanding of networking and security principles, with strong problem-solving and log-analysis skills.
- Experience with continuous integration systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, plus source control systems.
- Fluent written and verbal English is required.
Nice to have
- Scripting or programming experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Familiarity with service mesh, GitOps workflows, or platform-as-a-product practices.
