What you will do

• Produce compelling, well-framed stories with diverse sourcing that require minimal editing.
• Break exclusive news by cultivating high-level sources and conducting probing interviews.
• Leverage deep knowledge of federal and state legislative, regulatory, and judicial processes.
• Collaborate with multimedia and graphics teams while maintaining the ability to work independently.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert and mentor for junior reporters in the newsroom.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English or journalism preferred.
• 7 years of experience in journalism.
• At least 1 year of experience reporting on legal, tax, or government topics.
• Ability to work onsite in Arlington, VA.
