What you will do

• Design and develop high-performance analog front-end electronics for optical detection systems.
• Define technical specifications for photonic detectors including photodiodes, APDs, SPADs, and SiPMs.
• Lead the evaluation and development of optical imaging and light collection systems for weak-signal environments.
• Analyze noise sources and system-level performance limitations in detector physics.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and knowledge transfer to research and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support advanced instrumentation development programs.

Requirements

• MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or Optical Engineering.
• 15 years of relevant experience in low-level light detection and analog circuit architecture.
• Deep expertise in precision PCB layout for sensitive analog systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to guide R&D directions.
• Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• PhD in a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience with photon counting and TCSPC technologies.
• Track record of innovation including patents or publications.
• Experience maturing complex technologies into commercial products.
