Radio Systems Engineer

TL;DR

Radio Systems Engineer (Radio Systems): Provide 2nd line support for national radio contracts, including triaging faults, maintaining radio networks, and installing/configuring radio equipment with an accent on RF troubleshooting, site surveys, and repairs of handheld and rack-mounted radio systems. Focus on delivering reliable radio service under changing priorities with on-call rota and overtime when required.

What you will do

• Triage and resolve end-user radio faults/issues as 2nd line support.
• Provide technical support to field-based engineers for radio faults.
• Support development, construction, maintenance, and optimization of radio networks.
• Install, configure, and test radio network equipment and software components.
• Repair handheld and rack-mounted radio equipment.
• Attend customer sites for site surveys, system maintenance, and fault finding/repair or project work; support out-of-hours rota.

Requirements

• 2nd line radio services experience, including maintenance and fault resolution.
• Experience with antenna and PMR installation/decommissioning.
• Experience with TETRA, microwave, and DMR systems (including cell enhancement and repeater systems).
• Good understanding of Microsoft Windows and Unix-based systems; awareness of RF and electronic test equipment; understanding of IP networks/LAN.
• Must hold a full UK driving license.
• Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK; ideally current SC clearance including CTC Enhanced Level 2 or eligibility to obtain those clearances (plus DBS and further security checks as required).
