Fraud Operations Specialist - Fraud Prevention (Fintech)

Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid with one day a week in the office. Shifts run between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday, with one weekend day every other week worked remotely.

What you will do

• Handle fraud escalations during the application journey, including document reviews, call listening, and onboarding investigations.
• Complete inbound and outbound payment reviews within service levels while protecting customers and minimising friction for legitimate payments.
• Investigate personal information change requests and fraudulent transaction claims from start to finish.
• Raise Visa chargebacks where applicable and identify first-party fraud with clear supporting evidence.
• Keep customers informed, manage expectations, and submit reports to Cifas when required.
• Work with financial institutions and law enforcement, support senior colleagues on priority cases, and coach colleagues on fraud queries.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar fraud operations role within a financial institution.
• Experience using Cifas and Visa.
• Knowledge of fraud and AML laws and regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail when examining documents and investigating cases.
• Ability to prioritise cases, work effectively under pressure, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and act with integrity.
• Ability to work hybrid in Manchester, including one office day per week and scheduled weekend or bank holiday shifts when required.
