What you will do

• Break stories and react aggressively to breaking news while monitoring emergency scanners and digital sources.
• Coordinate reporters, photographers, and field crews to ensure comprehensive news coverage.
• Develop story ideas and participate in daily planning meetings to meet editorial goals.
• Facilitate live remotes and manage the logistics of deploying personnel and equipment.
• Collaborate with the digital team to provide real-time information and video feeds.
• Establish and maintain a network of contacts and sources across the Los Angeles area.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Communications.
• At least 4 years of experience in a broadcast news environment.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assignment Editor.
• Must be willing to work on-site in Los Angeles.
• Must have unrestricted work authorization for the United States.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnights (24/7 shift).
