What you will do

• Collaborate with a backend-focused team to scale the User Platform microservices landscape.
• Design and maintain high-performance systems for authentication, user management, and team permissions.
• Decompose existing services and build new, reusable building blocks from scratch.
• Communicate with stakeholder teams to align requirements and optimize value for customers.
• Improve the experience for large-scale Enterprise and Education organizations.

Requirements

• Must be based in Melbourne and able to work from the campus.
• Strong background in designing and running high-performance Java backend systems.
• Firmly grounded computer science fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, and data structures.
• Solid experience with SQL and database design.
• Effective communication skills for cross-team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Authentication and Permission systems.
• Experience with DynamoDB.
