What you will do

• Provide triage, treatment, and rehabilitation for sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife.
• Deliver clinical services and implement preventative medicine programs for the zoo's animal population.
• Collaborate with pathologists, scientists, and external specialists to manage complex medical cases.
• Support the education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students.
• Provide professional advice on reproductive management, biosecurity, and animal transport.
• Engage with zoo guests through educational activities in the Wildlife Hospital.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and eligibility for full registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
• Demonstrated experience in zoo and wildlife veterinary medicine and native wildlife rehabilitation.
• Knowledge of zoo animal husbandry, biosecurity, and management practices.
• Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) or ability to obtain one.
• NSW Class C Driver’s License and ability to drive a vehicle.
• Current NSW Tranquilliser Firearms Permit or ability to obtain one.

Nice to have

• Board certification and/or post-graduate qualifications in zoo and wildlife medicine or conservation medicine.
