What you will do

• Design, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and views for production applications and APIs.
• Analyze query execution plans and implement indexing strategies to ensure consistent performance as data volumes grow.
• Manage database schema versioning and controlled deployments across development, preproduction, and production environments.
• Diagnose and remediate production database issues impacting availability, stability, or performance.
• Ensure all database and data-handling practices are audit-ready and compliant with HITRUST and HIPAA requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team on SQL performance and database design best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in senior-level DBA and SQL development roles supporting mission-critical systems.
• Expert proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+), including deep hands-on experience with T-SQL.
• Proven track record of owning production SQL Server environments, including security, disaster recovery, and operational readiness.
• Working knowledge of Azure data services such as Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience using version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for database schema and deployment workflows.
• Must have a strong understanding of HIPAA and HITRUST regulated data-handling requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining and modifying SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) cubes.
• Experience with schema migration tools such as Redgate Flyway.
• Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Database Administrator Associate.
• Previous experience working in healthcare technology or other heavily regulated industries.
