What you will do

• Design, build, and iterate on an end-to-end RAG pipeline for autonomy validation from prototype to demo.
• Define and execute empirical experiments to validate hypotheses with data.
• Solve ambiguous, open-ended problems using a researcher's mindset and rapid iteration.
• Communicate complex results, trade-offs, and technical uncertainty to team members and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in a quantitative field (Engineering, CS, Physics, Neuroscience, Biology, or similar).
• Strong programming skills in Python and data manipulation (SQL, Pyspark, Scala).
• Solid foundation in machine learning and statistics.
• Available for a 6-month project with a commitment of at least 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to commute on-site to Foster City, CA.
• Ability to handle high uncertainty and work independently on open-ended problems.

Nice to have

• Experience with RAG systems, LLMs, or vision-language models (VLMs).
• Background in quantitative disciplines like Neuroscience, Physics, or Computational Bio.
• Prior research experience taking ambiguous problems from inception to result independently.
• Genuine interest in autonomous vehicles.
