What you will do

• Lead the architecture and development of production AI products such as chatbots and agentic workflows using Python.
• Design centralized AI platform components including model routing, provider management, and vector search.
• Implement context engineering and system design for multi-turn conversation management and optimal retrieval.
• Integrate AI products with accounting systems, document repositories, and external APIs.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure compliance and robustness.
• Mentor other engineers and promote best practices for AI deployment and governance.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience building backends for production applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python and AI application frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-native environments, preferably AWS.
• Ability to drive technical standards and communicate complex designs to stakeholders.
• Must be based in or able to work in San Jose, California (Hybrid)

Nice to have

• Experience with production conversational AI or chatbots.
• Background in system integration or enterprise software platforms.
• Familiarity with accounting workflows and financial data processing.
• Knowledge of advanced RAG, reranking, RLHF, or AI observability tools.
