Salary: $105,000 - $145,000 yearly

What you will do

• Design, implement, and document new features for the streaming video SDK on Roku.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.
• Optimize software performance, scalability, and functionality of the Roku video SDK.
• Provide production support, investigating and resolving incidents to ensure system stability.
• Deliver regular SDK releases following established schedules and version control practices.
• Participate in code reviews and propose innovative architectural solutions to address technical debt.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in delivering Video Player SDK solutions and supporting seamless integration.
• 2+ years of experience delivering commercial software in an agile environment using GitHub and Jira.
• Proficiency in BrightScript and the SceneGraph framework.
• Familiarity with Roku development tools and video playback components (e.g., roVideoPlayer).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to collaborate within a distributed global team.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with streaming protocols such as HLS and DASH.
• Experience with streaming video monitoring tools like Conviva.
• Background in embedded systems, game development, or other performance-critical systems.
