What you will do

  • Prepare monthly financial statement packages, including journal entries, fixed asset depreciation, and bank reconciliations.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of general ledgers, income statements, and property manager variance comments.
  • Collaborate with property management teams to support annual budgeting and expense reconciliation processes.
  • Manage cash accounts and ensure timely payment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions.
  • Prepare and submit Sales & Use Tax returns and process vendor invoices as needed.
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with internal policies and SOC I requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States
  • 2-4 years of related accounting or financial reporting experience.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and full-cycle G/L accounting.
  • Intermediate competence in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client and team interaction.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Yardi or MRI accounting software.
  • Prior experience in the real estate industry.
