TL;DR

Senior Electrical Systems Analysis (CAE) Engineer (Automotive): Developing and executing 1D models of electrical components and vehicle architectures for 12V/48V systems with an accent on simulation, co-simulation, and SiL modeling. Focus on building physics-based models for battery and distribution systems, performing root cause analysis, and optimizing system reliability.

What you will do

  • Lead the development of analysis capabilities for 12V/48V electrical systems, including battery, distribution, and aggregator models.
  • Develop physics-based models for co-simulation and Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) efforts.
  • Create vehicle electrical and battery electro-thermal models to support virtual controls and calibration initiatives.
  • Perform standard analysis utilizing optimization and statistical methods to deliver robust design solutions.
  • Collaborate with global analysis engineers and cross-functional teams (Architects, SiL, Validation) to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Support critical vehicle program gates through technical reviews, including PPDRs and VVAs.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Controls engineering.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in design, analysis, or testing of 12V/48V electrical systems or components.
  • Proficiency in Synopsys Saber simulator, MAST modeling language, MATLAB, Simulink, and Simscape.
  • Experience with FMUs (Functional Mockup Unit), co-simulation, and developing models for SiL simulations.
  • Strong foundation in electric circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetics, and control systems.
  • Experience in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) methods.

Nice to have

  • M.S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics.
  • Experience with CAE/CAD tools and Lithium-ion battery cell modeling.
  • DFSS Black Belt or higher certification.
  • Experience in designing and implementing GUIs and core software for technical applications.
