Transport Economist

TL;DR

Transport Economist (Consulting): Deliver transport economic analysis and business case development for diverse transport modes and related economic challenges with an accent on applying Department’s Transport Analysis Guidance and wider economic impact assessment. Focus on leading workstreams, managing project budgets, and communicating findings to senior clients and officials.

Location: Hybrid work across multiple UK offices including London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, and Hemel Hempstead with expectation to spend 60% of time onsite or with clients.

What you will do

• Provide high-quality transport economic advice and business case development aligned with Department’s Transport Analysis Guidance.
• Lead workstreams within projects ensuring best practice economic techniques are applied consistently.
• Manage project budgets and deliver reports, proposals, and presentations to clients and officials.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and support training to enhance technical and consultancy skills.

Requirements

• Location: Must be able to work hybrid from UK offices listed.
• Strong track record in transport economics and business case development.
• Proven project management and delivery experience in transport environment.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and lead key tasks and workstreams.
