What you will do

• Provide line management for 8-12 engineers, focusing on mentorship, performance, and career growth.
• Lead the delivery, people, and processes for data-focused engineering teams.
• Partner with product and commercial teams to align technical roadmaps with business priorities.
• Champion and refine AI-first engineering practices and system reliability.
• Use metrics to identify and implement improvements in delivery velocity and team health.
• Represent engineering in leadership forums and cross-functional organizational contexts.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United Kingdom
• Proven leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Previous line management experience within a commercially focused data function.
• Strong background in software engineering fundamentals and agile methodologies.
• Experience managing complex, cross-team programme delivery with multiple dependencies.
• No visa sponsorship available

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science.
• Experience working in an AI-first environment or transitioning teams to this model.
