What you will do
- Provide line management for 8-12 engineers, focusing on mentorship, performance, and career growth.
- Lead the delivery, people, and processes for data-focused engineering teams.
- Partner with product and commercial teams to align technical roadmaps with business priorities.
- Champion and refine AI-first engineering practices and system reliability.
- Use metrics to identify and implement improvements in delivery velocity and team health.
- Represent engineering in leadership forums and cross-functional organizational contexts.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United Kingdom
- Proven leadership experience managing high-performing engineering teams.
- Previous line management experience within a commercially focused data function.
- Strong background in software engineering fundamentals and agile methodologies.
- Experience managing complex, cross-team programme delivery with multiple dependencies.
- No visa sponsorship available
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data science.
- Experience working in an AI-first environment or transitioning teams to this model.
