What you will do
- Lead and develop a team of hardware engineers and design authorities to deliver high-quality embedded electronic designs.
- Oversee ownership across architecture, schematics, and PCB layout, primarily focused on Intel x86 architecture.
- Drive delivery excellence by reviewing workflows and partnering with the engineering community to simplify processes.
- Ensure designs are robust and meet all functional, quality, and lifecycle expectations through rigorous reviews.
- Coordinate technical submissions for lifecycle reviews, including documentation and safety standards.
- Collaborate with software, systems, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless hardware integration and buildability.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering embedded computer designs using Intel x86 architectures.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for complex technical challenges.
- Solid understanding of the full product lifecycle from concept through to release.
- Experience managing and mitigating technical risks within hardware programmes.
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
- Must be able to meet BPSS level pre-employment screening criteria for security clearance.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of design for test and manufacture (DFx).
- Experience designing for rugged or challenging environments.
- Understanding of embedded software and hardware interaction.
- Awareness of high-speed digital design challenges.
