What you will do

• Provide technical specialist or project lead guidance for assigned substation projects, including coordination and direction.
• Develop protection and control deliverables (protective relays, panel arrangements, one-line/three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, relay panel and equipment wiring).
• Develop physical design deliverables (yard layout, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, auxiliary AC/DC power systems).
• Perform or oversee QA/QC review of electrical substation design packages and ensure compliance with engineering codes, standards, and quality program.
• Prepare complex engineering calculations, manage budgets/schedules/quality requirements, and review lower-level engineering work.
• Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM), coordinate with clients/vendors/subcontractors, and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

• Minimum 11 years of related work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or the country where the professional is practicing.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements if selected (background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required/preferred? (Not stated as minimum; treat as preferred.)

Nice to have

• Project lead and technical specialist experience for utility substation clients and projects.
• High-voltage (HV) substation design experience in physical and/or protection & controls.
• QA/QC review experience.
• Consulting experience and experience coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary leads/project managers.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
