What you will do

• Build and evolve mission-critical commercialization tools and systems for ride-hailing and fleet management.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, and other engineering teams to develop user-facing internal products.
• Address cross-cutting technical problems involving mobile apps, cloud backends, and the Waymo Driver.
• Coordinate with operations, legal, and policy teams to ensure the delivery of critical business infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in mobile development with a focus on modern Android application development.
• Experience in backend development using Java, Kotlin, C++, or Go.
• Proficiency in using AI tools (such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, or Codex) for daily development.

Nice to have

• Experience building data visualization or data management applications.
• Collaboration experience with UX and Interaction design.
• Knowledge of reliability monitoring, alerting, security, and privacy practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple levels and sites.
