What you will do

• Act as a strategic subject matter expert on global customs and excise tax matters to ensure worldwide compliance.
• Develop and publish global guidelines on excise tax treatment.
• Lead strategic projects aimed at accurate and automated customs clearance for cross-border shipments.
• Manage global customs and tax functions and establish uniform standards.
• Analyze company-wide processes to minimize risk and increase efficiency regarding excise tax.
• Design and implement training programs to empower international teams.

Requirements

• Substantial professional experience in legal, logistics, or manufacturing, ideally within a highly regulated industry.
• In-depth knowledge of excise tax and customs law.
• Proven track record in global project management and handling cross-location issues.
• Strategic, proactive, and analytical approach to process management and global policy enforcement.
• Strong communication skills in both German and English are required.
• Must be based in or able to work from the headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany.
