Underwriter (Fintech)

TL;DR

Underwriter (Fintech): Assessing risk for e-commerce merchants during onboarding with an accent on business model analysis, traffic evaluation, and risk profiling. Focus on conducting KYB/KYC assessments, setting risk limits, and ensuring compliance with card scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard).

Location: Hybrid; must be based in Vilnius, Lithuania (at least 3 days in office)

Electronic Money Institution (EMI) delivering personalized financial services to B2B, B2C, and C2B customers.

What you will do

• Analyze e-commerce merchant applications, verifying business models and evaluating chargeback/fraud risks.
• Utilize Webshield and Similarweb to analyze domains, traffic, and digital footprints.
• Perform KYB/KYC assessments, reviewing corporate structures and UBOs in line with internal and card scheme policies.
• Document onboarding decisions and establish limits and reserve requirements.
• Collaborate with sales, monitoring, and compliance teams to refine underwriting policies.
• Monitor active merchants' transaction activity and risk KPIs.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a merchant underwriter, risk analyst, or onboarding specialist in fintech or payments.
• Proficiency in Lithuanian and English (written and spoken).
• Hands-on experience with Webshield and Similarweb.
• Strong knowledge of Visa and Mastercard card processing and non-compliance detection.
• Availability to work from the Vilnius office at least 3 days a week.

Nice to have

• Experience in acquiring or payment facilitation.
• PCI DSS knowledge.
• Experience with reporting and direct interaction with Visa/Mastercard.
