TL;DR
Data Architect (Azure/AWS): Designing and implementing end-to-end data models and integration frameworks for complex insurance projects with an accent on multi-cloud architecture and data governance. Focus on building reusable architecture blocks, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring regulatory compliance across Azure and AWS platforms.
Location: Hybrid (Canada), requiring three days per week of in-person presence
Salary: 95,000 – 145,000 CAD

What you will do
- Author and own comprehensive data architecture solutions for complex insurance projects, aligning with enterprise standards.
- Design and implement end-to-end data models, pipelines, and integration frameworks.
- Establish data governance strategies and ensure consistency with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Identify and extract reusable data assets such as schema definitions and ETL templates for broader application.
- Lead the evaluation and selection of data management technologies, including data lakes and lake houses.
- Provide architectural guidance throughout the project lifecycle as the lead technical data authority.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Architecture supporting mid-to-high complexity initiatives.
- Deep experience architecting and implementing data solutions on Azure and AWS.
- Proven expertise in establishing data governance frameworks and defining data quality rules.
- Proficiency in designing architectures that meet industry standards for data privacy and protection.
- Must be based in Canada and able to work in a hybrid model (3 days per week in-person).
Nice to have
- Insurance industry experience and working knowledge of insurance concepts.
- Databricks certification.
- Practical experience with Data Science, Generative AI tooling, and Agentic AI platforms.
